Anti Double Stranded DNA (ds-DNA) Screening

Anti-dsDNA antibodies are produced by the immune system against the DNA when the immune system is unable to distinguish between its own antigens and foreign antigens. These autoantibodies cause organ and tissue damage. The presence of anti-dsDNA in the blood strongly indicates an autoimmune disorder. Therefore, to detect such antibodies an anti-dsDNA screening is recommended.
